Drugs and their requirement are tremendously increasing ever. The various steps comes under drug discovery process are a combined effect of interdisciplinary actions.  Research is synonymous with NEW, a search towards new things either of drugs or targets to alleviate diseases. R&D unit thus has more responsibility so that targets to cure diseases may be identified and tested.
National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Guwahati, is a national level institute in India in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a motto to serve the humanity.  For the same reason the research environment over here is firstly evoked amongst students and grasping of multidisciplinary knowledge and practical skills are highly encouraged. The institute offers two years Masters Course in Pharmacology & Toxicology, Pharmacy Practice and Biotechnology. From the session 2011 PhD in Pharmacology & Toxicology has also commenced.
Deliverance of lectures, practical sessions, and research aura has constantly provided by experienced faculties of mentor institute. Also, the great scientists and experts for interdisciplinary subjects are invited for complete grooming of our students. The facilities for laboratory, animal house, computer lab, library etc. are well managed and fledged best.
One of the main objectives of NIPER- Guwahati is to train up professionals to suit the ever growing need of the Indian Pharmaceutical Industry.
